is it that hard to make a rollback?????

When you have 4 millionish accounts * 4 characters = 16 million character's inventories, locations, skills, attributes, armor, weapons, mods, PvP or PvE, level, fame, faction and rank to load up, along with the storages, that's a lot to pull out of an archive. It is that hard.

Perhaps, but a lot of people probably didn't know it was a bug. If the prices had been deliberately reset, then surely it would have only been a matter of time till they were back to their usual cost, hence people probably decided to take advantage of it.

i'm upset because of losing all my elites i was capping and have to cap again(yay for a few return trips to thk and snake dance).
overall i'm torn on the issue though.
i lose a couple of hours work because a bunch of idiots were exploiting a glitch that i had no part in.i now need to recap about 5 or 6 elites(boy am i happy that i never got to the ring of fire elites).more importantly,is the rollback gonna cause any other serious issues?.
but all the cheaters that thought they were now rich lose out.
maybe its just me but i would rather they just left it like last time and not make my gaming time a waste.they left it last time and let the cheats get rich on hoarding ecto(which i still blame my inability to get a good crys on,well that and the stupid prices poeple will buy them in RL)so whats different this time.
but a.net is the gw god so guess my wasted time means nothing to them.also feel realy sorry for those who have done stuff they have been trying to do for a long time(thk, ring of fire missions, all those that beat hells and thought they had finaly finished the game or finaly got a group to do the titan quests/sf quests).

Yeah sure and if you was online and saw a price reset you wouldn't buy anything and "Exploit a bug"

I was the last person in HA (Euro) and was very confused when I pressed N and got "Your connection to the Friends Server has been disconnected." That was my first idea something was going wrong... then all the error messages, I was very confused, but I'm glad - I was playing too long =P
Thanks for the update, Firefly.

Disrupting chop?
Anet must be pretty annoyed that ths blunder has occured at the heart of the Factions advertising campaign. Being honest though... i don't think it will put many people off buying Factions. Nobody's perfect and the rollback is the only realistic resolution. I just hope to nobody was dropped a nice gold crystalline after 9:00gmt - if so... don't jump, think of your loved ones >_<.
ps. mending ftw! ^ ^

Seriously, you say that as if everyone KNEW that it was a glitch.
I popped out of presearing and saw some guy in Ascalon trying to sell Sup. Vigors for 10k so obviously, I went to the trader to check the prices and saw that they were rock bottom.
What would YOU have done? If you could seriously resist buying even a couple Sup. runes or Obsidian Shards for 250g each, when you've spent your whole game life seeing them priced at 50-70k and 4-6k each, my hat's off to you; I'll happily admit that you're a more honest person than I am.
I started buying thinking that the traders had reset like it happened before, something that happened before I started playing but was told about by guildies and the like, so I started buying what I could.
When I realized that the prices for the items SHOULD be going up but weren't...at that point, it was more of a "in for a penny, in for a pound" theme going around my head.

so what do we do next time Gaile Gray? let see who buys and who dont and w8 for you guys to see or you will set it back or not ? only if you guys were so good to stop bots and other shit that do more harm to the game then this things.
It's not like there is anything like aweapon or so that let you play the gaem better then others, the most ppl bought the material for the fow armor, can't see the problem, when you not only need shards but ecto and other material +70K

well i bought enough sup runs for all my characters...as i have all the fissure I need. i did buy shards for a friend that needed his to finish his set...oh well...
It indeed looked like a reset...as the healing rune was still like 11-17k..and ecto was 6-7k....I think anet should have left it alone...and said "our bad"...the last reset screwed up the economy for what..a week..then it was back to normal...
Hope no one loses their job over this blunder...but comeon now...test these things before you push a bloody patch out...simple playtesting and development time would find many of these bugs that pop up after an update...as in after every update...they push 1-3 more out to fix things...

The last (first reset) was done on purpose, it was to stabilize the GW economy, they did that by making all merchants in all districts (America / Europe / Korea / ect.) in line with each other(stopped people from buying in one conutry's district and selling in another). By reseting the prices on everything they brought all the traders into one category so if you buy something playing in the Europe server it will affect the prices in the other servers and yadda yadda. The dev's have nothing to answer as they let us know this already. I just wish I wasn't at work when it went down the first time.
This time they are fixing it as it was a mistake and would destroy the economy that they stabilized.
